# Cigar Lighter Adapter

A Cigar Lighter Adapter is a convenient 12V DC power source that plugs into the cigarette/auxiliary lighter socket outlet found standard in most vehicles. It can be used to power a variety of electronics and devices that require 12V DC input when on the go, including outdoor and indoor SIM card routers for in-vehicle WiFi hotspots.

Specifically, a 12V cigar lighter adapter steps down the higher voltage from the car battery to a steady 12V DC output. It also regulates the power stream, smoothing out dips for steady voltage. The adapter plugs directly into the cig lighter/12V socket, making a secure connection to tap power safely.

The cigar lighter adapter provides a standard 5.5mm/2.1mm tip connector. This plugs into compatible routers, modems, and other gear needing 12V DC power input.

For setting up temporary or mobile WiFi networks with a cellular router in a vehicle, the 12V 2A+ cigar lighter adapter allows the safe powering of internet devices over long periods while avoiding battery drain. It taps straight into the vehicle's electrical system for hours of continuous 12-volt 2 amp power on the go.
